A gift for you

Imagine you’d had to choose between sending an email, a text or a postcard – which would you choose? I would go with snail mail, a good old greeting card. It’s such a kind way to communicate! Instead of a quick text saying “Happy Birthday”, a postcard can be a birthday gift on its own. It’s personal, as you take the time to write a kind message. You literally stand still and think of that person, carefully choosing the words. Can you imagine anything lovelier to receive? Wouldn’t you prefer a handwritten love-letter over a text-message saying “Luv U. XOXO”? I know I would!

Coming Monday October 9^th it is World Post Day. And as a designer of greeting cards, I cannot ignore this very special day!
So to promote the art of handwritten mail, to promote taking more time for kind words… I have a little gift for you:

Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t… but there have been some changes around here.

Let’s start with the name-change: Tessie’s Projects is now Confetti In Your Face. Aspiring to colour the world a little bit brighter. That’s exactly what you can expect from Confetti In Your Face’s products and writings! You can click here if you’re curious for more about me and Confetti In Your Face, the mission and dreams.
Secondly: new card-designs have arrived – four of them! They are very ready to travel all over the world. Will you help them on their way? The new cards (and of course the old, too) are now available in my Etsy-shop which is fully stocked. And from Tuesday onwards the new cards will also be available at TOON in Amsterdam.

With a name-change and new products also comes an updated website. Don’t worry, it’s mostly lay-out that has changed! My blogposts can now be found under the Writings-tab. I hope you’ll enjoy all the changes! I know I do ;-)

Being biased

There is a new shop in my hood. It opened its doors to the public yesterday. And I think it’s amazing. But I’m biased. I rent a shelf there. And on that shelf lie my cards!

That new shop is called TOON. It existed before, on a different location. But has now moved to de Baarsjes in Amsterdam. TOON is a shop where you can show your products and art, by renting a shelf, couple of square metres or a nail on a wall. It also has a little stage where performers can do their thing. Some people rent square metres and create there little studio there.

The shop is enormous. It has corners and lovely shrines filled with a diversity of beautiful things. You could get lost. You can have a cup of coffee too. Sitting on any chair in the shop you like. The only risk there, is that the chair is being sold while you sit in it.

If you’re in Amsterdam only for a short trip, skip the main shopping area and head over to de Baarsjes in Amsterdam West immediately. Stop by at TOON. Come say hi to my cards in their own little corner and leave your drawing marks on the sample-cards like this little guest has so beautifully done.

Someone understood what the pencils are for and multi-coloured this heart!

Marvel at all the beauty the shop has on offer. It’s absolutely worth visiting. I know, it’s not convincing hearing that from someone as biased as me.
